Putting aside that the tax increase was aimed at cigarettes, a tax increase on anything which is targeted for a specific 'cause' is pulling the wool over the eyes of naive citizens.

A pittance may go the proposed area but the mountain share is going to end up in the General Fund and spent as the state officials damn well pleases.

Politicians are always going to take the path of least resistance when it comes to filling the state coffers, instead of looking for ways to cut spending, they go directly to the already overtaxed people and pick their pockets again.

"Entitlement" needs to be replaced by "welfare state". You are entitled to what you work for.

I think we are all just getting tired of paying everybody else's way and then getting criticized when we ask them to do something to contribute and help us hold the bill down by a few pennies...like losing a few pounds or stopping smoking. The take, take, take society is crumbling...slowly but surely.

I work hard for my money. I have to take random drug tests. I vote the people on welfare take a drug test and have to pass. If they fail, benefits are gone. How much of my money is going for illegal drugs?

Nice poll but again it stays on the web site too long to remain viable and current.

Please change your poll questions more frequently in the future. This would generate more interest and also would reflect what is on the minds of your viewers more accurately.
