This is another example of Sanford refusing to have the State take responsibility for it's people.

Why does the government need to babysit anyone? The State is NOT responsible for you or I. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF! Nothing is always the fault of everyone/thing else!

What next? Wrapping the world in bubble wrap because someone might stub their widdle bitty toe on that big bad blade of grass?

It's not the state's job to take responsibility for the people...it's the PEOPLE'S responsibility to take responsibility for themselves. If you like the idea of big government, then you need to pack your little suitcase and move to N.Korea!

Beth, You know what they say about great minds...

I'm happy to find out that it is not just me with that opinion!

Let me join you two absolutely. I wish the Democrats in Washington would start thinking as we do and just quit trying to save everyone that has fallen upon hard times or has made a mistake. I wish Sanford could serve another term.

Why does the Government need to baby sit? No reason I can think of. Let's get them out or the air ports, and stop harassing those who board our aircraft. What items they take on board is their own business anyway huh?

Maybe they should even stop requiring restraint systems in the vehicles we drive and transport our children in. Who needs those silly little child passenger safety seats anyway, let the children sit in the drivers lap. Don’t need baby sitting in vehicles do we?

We know for certain the good building industry folk would never cut corners to save a few dollars either, so there is certainly no reason the government should have to baby set the building industry. Just ask the few survivors from the tragic Rhode Island Night Club Fire, or the families of the firefighters in South Carolina last year that didn't make it home.

While were at it, lets do away with silly little things that Governments imposes on all of us like speed limits, stupid DWI laws, Day Care regulations...

Be Real Folks. Sprinkler save lives if you want them to or not. I'm not a Democrat, but legislation of this type is a NO BRAINER. The options are baby setters or funeral directors

The non support of this legislation by myself and others seems to be in the way it is funded or subsidized by tax dollars. I've not read anyone who has opposed sprinklers in and of themselves. Remove the revenue issue and you'll get more support I'm sure.

It's the not the state's job to take care of people, EXCEPT when it is(was) state employee's lives at risk because someone isn't responsible enough!

What a stupid socialist statement! The government has no responsiblity to take care of you. You need to be responsible and take care of yourself

Agree with thamesttp!
