About Ryan Sims: Ryan Sims is just another in a long list of talented South Carolina prep players who took their talents out of state in college. Sims played collegiately at North Carolina, where he had 167 tackles, 14 sacks, 40 quarterback pressures and one fumble recovery playing alongside Carolina Panthers All-Pro DE Julius Peppers. ... Sims was drafted sixth overall (Peppers was 2nd overall), by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2002. ... Sims was placed on injured reserve six games into his rookie season after dislocating his elbow against San Diego. ... Had his two best years in 2003 and 2004, when he combined for 113 tackles and 5 QB sacks in 31 games. ... Was traded to Tampa Bay prior to the 2007 season. ... Led the Bucs in tackles for loss with four in 2007 despite playing in just nine games. Sims has three tackles and a QB sack this season. ... In seven NFL seasons, Sims has 175 tackles, seven sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery and two forced fumbles.
