Clemson linebacker Vincent dismissed from team

The Post and Courier
Monday, May 19, 2008

CLEMSON - Cortney Vincent's football career at Clemson appears over.

Vincent, a starting linebacker who had one remaining year of eligibility with the team, has been dismissed. The Tigers were informed of the news at a team meeting Monday, and an announcement from Clemson is forthcoming.

Vincent, who started all 12 regular-season games last season, had been suspended for spring practice for an unspecified violation of team policy. In December, he was arrested for DUI - a case that is still pending.

Clemson lost seniors Nick Watkins and Tramaine Billie from last year's team. Antonio Clay spent the spring semester at home in Georgia dealing with emotional issues and is not expected to return in 2008.

Unspecified violation, huh? Funny that Clemson's dirty laundry never airs but someone in Columbia gets in trouble and they publish every last detail, including their junior high class attendance report. No wonder no Clemson players ever gets in trouble, if they don't inform the public, it never happened.
