Stupid - shouldn't have lowered property taxes for the sales tax! You can count on property tax - it stays the same or increases as more property is developed. Sales tax - who knows what you will get? VERY DUMB WAY TO MANAGE - SOUNDS GOOD AT FIRST THOUGH.. It's called fool the dumb voter... Say No to republicans and their anti-tax pledge - they are running our state down... Just the same as a landlord that won't paint or fix anything... they have had long enough to find all of the "so called waste and incompetents running everything" (sarcasm) must be that more money is needed and they haven't been keeping the taxes up... I am all for paying taxes to make smart management decisions and maintain the state properly. to run our state into the ground to make a stupid tax pledge IS NOT WORKING...

Stupid is as stupid does in Columbia. Another reason the corrupt must be brought to justice for punishment. Many voters have reached the boiling point with these liars and cheaters and thieves in office.

I don't care if you are republican or democrat.......there should be NO property TAX what so ever! YOU work ...You BUY...You OWN! Our government should not rely on a steady flow from year to year!! Please read the FAIRTAX book!! It will open your eyes..at least I think it will...I know it opened MINE!! No matter who the Gov is ..they should hold the Legislator's feet to the fire!!! NO MORE PORK!!

BTW, There's only about 100 webpages and other resources that show how FairTax could never work. It's an economic impossibility. The book is a right good hustle. Don't bother trying to scream it at me with the next 90 posts either.

What did the property tax relief do for me?

It took a simple "one statement" federal tax deduction and placed it upon every receipt for every purchase I made during the year. There is no "property tax relief". It was a greater burden placed elsewhere.

Senator Leatherman,
The constitution may provide for moving money between accounts but certainly not running a deficit. You Senator Leatherman presided over "unconstitutional budget deficits" earlier this decade and more recently reckless "runaway spending". If once again, we're going to have a deficit, then once again sir, you've breached your oath of office "to protect and defend the consitution of SC so help me God". At best Mr. Leatherman, you're a "rino" (republican in name only). It's way past time for you to resign from the SC Senate. You'd be doing the hard working citizens of our Palmetto State a grand favor, Sir.

quit spending 100's of millions of dollars on social programs for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! food stamps, medicaid insurance, wic, day care etc. it will cost me money that i dont have just to give to these people that arent even here legally. stop the madness. start caring for those of us who are legal citizens of these United States! Ya know, if businesses wnat to hire illegal folks then let them pay to do everything else for them. what you say? that would mean that you would be better off hiring a legal citizen and paying more? duh!

I don't agree with pork - but you no tax loving idiot - how in the hell do you think roads, schools, hospitals, etc exist. There is not enough profit there for private industry to put up streetlights, build a sidewalk, build a school, install drainage. You idiot - you pay taxes to collectively receive amenities. You have the right to say they are great, or they suck, and what is the right amount of money to spend on them. I am happy to pay property taxes, 'cause I don't want to live in the forest on a dirt road, not recieve an education, or protection from law enforcement, or medical care if I am without means, have no electricity, and drink pond water. Why is everyone so stupid. You need to demand accountability sure, but don't say there shouldn't be any taxes - that is stupid.
