BOOK SIGNING: Janice Shay, author of the newly published "Charleston Classic Desserts," which features 45 recipes from local restaurants, chefs and caterers, will sign copies of her book at Sam's Club in North Charleston 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday. The book lists for $15.95.

TEA ROOM: Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting St., in the fellowship hall. Seconds Please Tea Room runs 11 a.m.-2 p.m. May 23-24 and May 30-31. Friday and Saturday. Favorite Lowcountry dishes for lunch and homemade desserts, live music, gift shop and art gallery. Proceeds benefit church missions. Seconds Please Gift Shop will offer homemade items.
