Today

-- Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will present the Marathon Chevrolet Open Car, Bike & Truck Show, sponsored by Marathon Chevrolet of Summerville, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration, which is $10 a vehicle, will begin at 11 a.m. at Marathon Chevrolet on Main Street in Summerville. Thirty trophies will be awarded by class size, and there will be three Sponsor's Choice trophies. Classes will be Corvettes, motorcycles, sport compact, Mustangs, street rods, trucks and years 1900-62, 1963-71, 1972-89 and 1990-present. For more information, visit www.4cccc.org.

Wednesday

-- A Classic Cruise-In sponsored by Lowcountry Mopars will be held 6-8:30 p.m. at Ryan's Restaurant on U.S. Highway 17A in Summerville. Classes include trucks, Corvettes, Mustangs, street rods and years 1900-63, 1964-74 and 1975-2008. Entry fee is $5 per vehicle. Contact Betty Harris at 797-3246 for more information.

May 17

-- Southern Mustang and Ford club, in conjunction with Hooters, will sponsor a car show at Hooters restaurant near Northwoods Mall in North Charleston. Registration starts at 11 a.m., and trophies will be handed out at 3 p.m. The SMAF/Hooters 2008 Summer Show Series will be every third Saturday of the month through September.

May 24

-- Children's Miracle Network Open Car & Truck Show will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Tanger Outlet and American LaFrance Fire Museum, 4975 Centre Pointe Drive in North Charleston. Registration is $15. Spectators get in free. Trophies will be awarded to the top three in 16 classes, and there will be "Best of" and Club Participation awards. Disc jockey, drawings, food, prizes. Proceeds will be donated to Children's Miracle Network. Rain date is 1-5 p.m. May 25. May 29

-- An Open Car Show will be held 6-8:30 p.m. at Cici's Pizza, 4950 Centre Pointe Drive across from Tanger Outlet. All classes and motorcycles. For more information, contact Larry Bowman at 729-6820.

June 4

-- Bessinger's BBQ, 1602 Savannah Highway, will hold a Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show 6-9 p.m. Registration is $5. There will be three trophies per class. Divisions include cars for years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-71 and 1972-08; street rods, trucks and motorcycles. Shows will be held the first Wednesday of the month through November. June 18-21

-- The Palmetto Police Motorcycle Skills Competition will be held at North Charleston Coliseum. Admission is free. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is hosting the event.

July 12

-- The South Carolina Region of the Sports Car Club of America, in conjunction with Rick Hendrick BMW, the BMW Car Club of America Foundation and Tire Rack, will conduct the Tire Rack Street Survival School for teen drivers at North Charleston Coliseum. Teens will be given a full-day course aimed at increasing their safe-driving awareness and skills. Classroom and hands-on training in their own car will give real-world experience not afforded in traditional driver training. Visit www.streetsurvival.org.
