Vikings eliminate James IslandClass AAAA Boys' SoccerStaff report

COLUMBIA — James Island (8-10) was ousted from the Class AAAA boys' soccer playoffs with a 4-1 loss to state top-ranked Spring Valley (23-0) on Thursday night. Thomas Wollersheim put the Vikings up 1-0 with the first of his two goals less than four minutes into the match. Spring Valley had seven shots on goal in the first half and led 3-0 at the break. Brian Demos scored the Trojans' goal with seven minutes left. Spring Valley, the defending state champion, plays at Beaufort in the third round Saturday. |
