Class AAAA Boys' Soccer BEAUFORT — Adam Smunk scored in the 15th minute and Beaufort (16-3) made it hold up for a 1-0 second-round victory over Stratford (14-10) in the Class AAAA boys' playoffs Thursday. Six minutes after Smunk headed in Nash Brace's pass, the Knights' Austin Savage got around the Eagles defense but his shot caromed off the post. In the 56th minute, Savage had another shot in close cleared before it reached the goal line. Beaufort hosts Spring Valley in the third round Saturday. |
