A 3-year-old girl was killed and an 18-month-old boy was critically injured Thursday afternoon after they were thrown from the back seat of a car that skidded into trees on Interstate 26 east between U.S. Highway 78 and Ashley Phosphate Road. The children were taken to Medical University Hospital. The Charleston County Coroner's office hasn't released their names. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office said the children's grandmother, Maria C. Millan-Farusto, 42, was driving the car. Witnesses said it appeared that Millan-Farusto lost control when a tire malfunctioned on the 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass she was driving. Her daughter, Delores Veronica Garcia-Millan, 22, was the front seat passenger. The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the cause of the accident and no charges have been filed. I too express my condolences to the family for this horrible loss.
However, I wonder if childseats were being used.

A whole life gone in a second! that is why i try to make as much time with my baby as i can. god bless this family .. that little angel is in a better place. RIP baby!
