Trooper investigation continues

The Post and Courier
Thursday, May 8, 2008

COLUMBIA — The group of state senators investigating issues within the South Carolina Highway Patrol will meet this afternoon.

Sen. Ray Cleary, R-Murrells Inlet, said he is not sure what the meeting will bring, but said he is open to putting in the time necessary to get the subcommittee's work underway.

This is the first time the subcommittee will meet since the Senate staff conducted its research into the Department of Public Safety, Highway Patrol's parent agency.

The Post and Courier was given access to the tapes and investigation files researched by the Senate last month.
