Ensemble Band set at University School

The U.S. Air Force Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble Band will perform 10 a.m. May 12 at University School of the Lowcountry.

The Ensemble Band is composed of active-duty Air Force personnel from Langley AFB, and they recently returned from a deployment in the Middle East. The group blends traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and England with a contemporary musical style to create a musical tapestry. Members perform on traditional instruments, such as Irish flute, tin whistles and bodhran, as well as modern instruments such as acoustic guitar and button accordion.

The show will be held in the gym and is free and open to the public.

The nonsectarian independent school for high-achieving students is at 690 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant.
