Money Man Pawn was evacuated and Arlington Drive across from West Ashley Toyota on U.S. 17 was closed about 3 p.m. today when authorities found what they thought was an explosive device between the pawn shop and a church next door, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The device, which was in a military duffel bag, turned out to be flares, Sheriff Al Cannon said.
The flares apparently were found by grounds people, said sheriff's Maj. John Clark.
Arlington Drive has been reopened.
