COOPER RIVER BASSMASTERS SPRING OPEN: The Cooper River Bassmasters will hold an open tournament May 10 out of Cypress Gardens Landing. Registration will begin at 5 a.m., with blast-off at safe light and weigh-in at 3 p.m. The entry fee is $30 with a $10 big fish pot. There is an 80-percent payback. CAROLINA LADY ANGLERS: The Carolina Lady Anglers’ 11th annual Fishing for a Cure inshore tournament will be held May 31 out of the Charleston Maritime Center. The captain’s meeting is May 28 at the Maritime Center. Eligible species include Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, trout, flounder, sheepshead, ladyfish and dogfish. There will be cash prizes for first through third places and outstanding awards for male, female and youth anglers. Proceeds are donated for breast cancer research. JIYC TOURNAMENT DATE: The James Island Yacht Club fishing tournament will be held May 24. Registration will be May 22. Information is available at www.jiyc.org or call (843) 795-6060.

FIFTY-FIFTY TOURNAMENT: The Fifty-Fifty/Petrel offshore tournament is June 13-14 out of Ripley Light Yacht Club. Registration and captain’s meeting will be held from 5-8 p.m. June 11 at Toler’s Cove Marina. The entry fee is $300 for the dolphin division and $300 for the wahoo division. Early registration is available online at www.fiftyfiftytournament.com.

PALMETTO TEAM TRAIL: The Palmetto Team Trail is offering a series of tournaments on the Santee Cooper lakes and river system. Tournaments are scheduled May 25, June 22, July 13, Aug. 9-10 (night), Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 23 and Dec. 7 (Classic). The entry fee is $100 per tournament with a $20 big fish pot and there is a $25 one-time registration fee. Each tournament will feature a 90-percent payback with 10 percent held for the Classic. Teams must fish seven events to qualify for the Classic. Blast-off will be 30 minutes before safe light and weigh-ins will be at 4 p.m. at Black’s Camp. the old Dock Restaurant.
