Councilman to host town hall meetingsSaturday, March 29, 2008
Charleston District 1 City Council member Gary White Jr. will host a series of town hall meetings next week, with one meeting in each of the distinct portions of the district: Daniel Island, downtown and James Island. White said he will focus his presentation at the Daniel Island meeting on parks and traffic. At the downtown meeting, he plans to discuss the upcoming changes and new management of the City Market, and closed-circuit cameras for crime prevention. At the James Island meeting, White plans to address the Cross Creek redevelopment project as well as the planned traffic changes near the foot of the Wappoo Creek bridge. The meeting schedule is: --Tuesday on Daniel Island, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Berkeley County Library, 2301 Daniel Island Drive. --Wednesday downtown, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Charleston County Library, 68 Calhoun St. --Thursday on James Island, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the city's Fire Station No. 13, 358 Folly Road. |
