Clemson's Davis out for spring
The Post and Courier
Tuesday, March 25, 2008
Clemson tailback James Davis is expected to miss the remainder of spring practice with a separated shoulder. Davis suffered the injury March 13, when the Tigers engaged in their first scrimmage of the spring. He was evaluated further Monday after the team returned from spring break. Coach Tommy Bowden didn't seem concerned after practice. "The injury is not serious," he said. "We know what James can do." In Davis' stead, Rendrick Taylor will experiment at running back. Taylor has given up linebacker after moving there before the start of spring practice. In other injury news: receiver Jacoby Ford and linebacker Stanley Hunter have been cleared for limited contact work. I wonder if this injury will give him a some humility and reduce some of his "run-off-at-the-mouth" problem. Anyway, I do hope he heals well.

I certainly hope James' injury heals 100% and he realizes that this is his last season---the last chance he'll have to hear 80,000+ fans chanting his name in Death Valley and a perfect opportunity to become a true team senior leader. Like Cliff Hammonds, he has the tools and (I believe) the dedication to achieve all his goals.
GOod Luck, JD. Seeya in the fall.
