Could it be that people play the game, but do not want anyone to know? We asked this question last week and were surprised with answers that came in online. T. Martin of James Island wrote in saying "back in the day a pick-up joint would have been a great selling point. However, these days, that usually means the crowd is too young to go in (to the bar)." C. Nielson of Charleston told "Behind Bars": "I would never dream of being associated with a known pick-up joint." So the question remains: If a place is known to be a pick-up joint, it is usually considered a hotspot in town? Next week's question for you: What is the worst experience that you have ever had in a club? Did a bartender spill a drink on you, maybe your date left you on the dance floor for his ex. Behind Bars wants to know. Drop us a line at lroberts@postandcourier.com.
