Upon using a friends log in information, My name is Tobie Mixon, I own and operate Tobie's Tail Wind Tavern and Marina, located on an inlet cove canal on the Cooper River in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
I received a phone call early the other morning being informed that I came in second place in the Restaurant Review for People's Choice.
I would like to say thank you ever so kindly for the votes... I still stand in awe and humbled by the votes.
although I am a small and what I call the Hole-In-The-Wall restaurant, and no signage for it either.., yet many from the surrounding LowCountry travel a good distance to get here, whether its for the great entertainment and the yummy food served, to the excellent staff here however, and known here as the Best kept secret in Moncks Corner. I was truly very happy to have been listed in the Charleston.Nets restaurant guide.
It seems in this buisness, which I have always said it is the toughest industry that there is....that choices and votes like this is what keeps us going... and striving to make it even better.
I enjoy serving others, and thats what I do best. I greet everyone that walks in the door, and am in this restaurant for 21 hours a day.. I never complain, I help the staff get out of the weeds .. so to speak.. and treat all that work here, all that comes in my door as if they are a family member. Because they are!
and thats why I have the repeat on a daily basis from friends and folks.
My phones have not stopped ringing.. and they are coming in to congratulate my second place.
However, I dont feel deserving of the votes.
Im just a little spot in the country by the water, and to stand beside the greats of Charleston.... I am truly Humbled by this.
I do serve great food, the Prime-Rib sells out on thursday, as does the alaskan crab legs on friday.... and the frog legs, gator tail... and even the cheesburgers are wonderful... a diversified menu it is... and we cater to the taste of everyone, and change many items for them.
They say that Tobie's is like sitting in thier second living room.
Again, Thank you everyone for voting for Tobie's Tail Wind Tavern as your choice for Neighborhood Grills.
I curtsy to you all.
Love-Peace- and Chicken Grease,
Tobie Mixon

Not only does the list of People's Choice Winners not include some guidance re: the location of the winners, the names included are not even hyperlinks to the individual restaurants' pages on your site. This is a shameful example of poor design. I suspect that someone at The Post and Courier just didn't want to take the time to make this page into something that would be useful to visitors.
