WALTERBORO — Former Colleton County sheriff's Capt. Buddy Hill will face off against his former boss in November's general election for sheriff. Hill on Tuesday won a Republican primary runoff against Jason Chapman by a 61 to 39 percent margin, according to official results. He will face incumbent Sheriff George Malone, who is running as a Democrat in November. Hill left the Sheriff's Office earlier this year to prepare for the election. Chapman is a sergeant with the Walterboro Police Department. He finished second to Hill in a primary two weeks ago. Former Colleton County Chief Deputy Steve Bazzle finished third in that race and Ehrhardt Assistant Police Chief Tommy Hudson finished last.
