The search for a man accused of killing Calvin Gibbs Jr. on Friday night ended this morning when police descended in force on a West Ashley neighborhood off St. Andrews Boulevard and arrested two suspects. Shortly before 7 a.m., at least 10 Charleston police vehicles and several officers wearing SWAT gear were at an apartment building on Battery Avenue. The site is less than half a block from where Gibbs was fatally shot. Che Carr, 17, of Tripe Street, is charged with murder, said Charles Francis, police public information officer. He is expected to have a bond hearing Tuesday. Police did not release the second suspect's name or a motive for the shooting. Gibbs, 25, was found Friday night about 11 p.m. in a parked vehicle in a dirt lot on Sycamore Avenue, a police report said. He died of a gunshot wound.
