A bank robbery suspect was caught more than red-handed. A cloud of red paint from a dye pack enveloped him as he fled his car.

The peculiar sight left a trail of witnesses with fingers pointing the way for police, who were on the scene quickly, said Charles Francis, Charleston Police Department public information officer.

Police received a call about a robbery at First Federal Bank, 2061 Savannah Highway, near Interstate 526, at 11:48 a.m., Francis said.

The suspect, a black man in his 50s whose name has not yet been released, fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and got into a white Ford sedan, Francis said.

A dye pack with the money exploded and apparently startled the suspect, police said. He was apprehended in a nearby neighborhood, Francis said.

"A dye pack with the money exploded, and a witness reported seeing the man get out of the car in a cloud of pink paint and take off running."

Lmao!!

"Police lost sight of the man but then found him with his feet pointing out of a drainage pipe; he was stuck and police had to pull him out.

They found the money and a pellet gun on him when they apprehended him."

ROFLMAO!! He's so gangsta!! I am sitting at my desk CRYING!!! Glad no one was hurt or killed. The suspect is a damn idiot though!

Hilarious! "a cloud of pink paint". Classic. He should hang up his robbery shoes. Evidently not a rocket scientist.

This is classic, you couldn't write a better script if you wanted to. BB gun, Pink Paint, POS's feet sticking out of the drain. No boys and girls this Democrat won't be voting in the fall either! LOL!

Shimmy on out of that pipe, go home, wash the pink off so you can be a black man again, and shoot yourself with that bb gun for even thinking you could get away with this crap.

I love it when a plan comes together. Put a pink tutu on him and let him dance all the way to jail!
