Automotive

Greg Weber has joined Hoover Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep in Moncks Corner as sales manager. Previously he worked in finance at Hoover's Summerville location.

Architecture

Brian W. Boone has joined Goff-D'Antonio Associates. He holds a master's degree in architecture from Clemson University and has more than 20 years of experience.

Banking

John Riddick III has joined Tidelands Bank of Mount Pleasant as Hilton Head city executive and senior vice president. He has more than 30 years of banking experience in Hilton Head and Charleston.

Education

Doug Dickerson has joined Charleston Southern University as director of university relations. Previously he was the editor of the Berkeley Independent. He holds a bachelor's degree from Southeastern University.

Philicia Baugh-Smith has joined the Charleston campus of Springfield College as assistant director of recruitment and admissions. She holds a bachelor's degree in human services from Springfield.

Denise M. Stanton has been promoted to vice president of operations at Fortune Academy of Charleston. She joined the company in 2003 as office manager and was promoted to registrar in 2004.

Engineering

Sam Phlegar, senior vice president in the Charleston office of Gainesville, Fla.-based Applied Technology & Management, has been named general manager of marina design and development for Cayman Islands-based Island Global Yachting. Both companies are affiliated with Island Capital Group LLC of New York. He remains director of ATM's Marina-Coastal Division.

Landscaping

Michelle Shulse has joined Southland Landscape Corp. as operations administrator for the eastern South Carolina operations office. Previously she was assistant manager at Greystar Management's Tradition at Summerville. She holds an associate degree in applied science from Keystone College and an associate degree in business administration from Luzurne County Community College in Nanticoke, Pa.

Marketing

Jimmy Snyder has joined Coastal Cigars as production coordinator. He is a graduate of the College of Charleston.

Medical

Fran Tunney has joined Patient One Medical Center in North Charleston as medical director. He has 20 years of medical experience and previously was a member of the Medical University of South Carolina emergency medicine faculty.

Emily Sutcliffe has joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a graduate of the MUSC College of Medicine, completed her residency at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center, and previously worked for the National Health Service in Somerset, England; the Indian Health Service in Shiprock, N.M.; and in private practice in Cortez, Colo. She practices at the Northwoods clinic.

Jaime Moore has joined Summerville Spine & Disc Center as director of marketing and a business partner in the DRX9000 Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression System. Previously she worked for more than 25 years in publishing, telecommunications and technology at companies including USA Today and Sprint International. She attended Commonwealth College in Virginia.

Nonprofit

Van Hendry has joined Healing Farm Ministries as executive director. He has 20 years of experience in health care administration in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, mostly for nonprofit organizations, and has served on the board of a trade association and a homeless shelter.

Performing arts

Janet Newcomb has joined the Charleston Symphony Orchestra as executive director. Previously she was interim president and CEO of the Rochester Philharmonic; consulting executive director of the Metropolitan Arts Council in Greenville; executive director of the Arts Council in Corning, N.Y.; director of grants for the S.C. Arts Commission; founding executive director of the Arts Council of Beaufort County; director of institutional advancement for the Technical College of the Lowcountry; and held several positions with the Arts Council in Buffalo, N.Y. She holds a bachelor's degree in music from Hood College and a master's degree in education from George Washington University.

Real estate

Lori Abramowitz and Dennis A. Hayes have joined Weichert Realtors-Dean-Kelby.

Abramowitz joins the Summerville office. She holds a bachelor's degree in speech correction from Douglas College of Rutgers University and a paralegal certificate from Hofstra University, and has experience as a paralegal and a substitute teacher.

Hayes joins the Mount Pleasant office. He holds a bachelor's degree from Ohio University and previously was a property developer in Alganue, Portugal.

Bud Poston, Dan Lorentz, Holly Monahan, Michael J. Graham and Rob Sturm have joined ERA Tides Realty.

Poston is broker in charge of the company's satellite office at the Links of Stono Ferry in Hollywood. He has many years of experience in real estate.

Lorentz will head up the new Cottages at Johns Island development.

Monahan is office manager and marketing director of the Mount Pleasant office. Previously she worked on Wall Street and in advertising in New York City, and has seven years of experience in real estate.

Graham has worked in sales for more than 19 years; he is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University.

Sturm has five years of experience in real estate. He holds a bachelor's degree in business from Appalachian State University.

Beth Plante has joined Elaine Brabham and Associates. Previously she worked for First Realty of Charleston. She holds two degrees from the University of Michigan.

Retail

Michelle Copley has joined Wulbern-Koval Co. as an account representative in the office furniture division. She has more than 17 years of experience in office furnishings in the Charleston area.
