A young man who was shot Sunday night in North Charleston's Liberty Hill community later died, and a 14-year-old boy is accused of firing the gun.
Trammel McFadden, 20, a former North Charleston High School student, was gunned down about 6:30 p.m. at the Neighbor's Store on East Montague Avenue.
Two North Charleston teens surrendered to police on Monday.
A 14-year-old boy, whose name was not released because of his age, is charged with murder and is accused of being the shooter, said Spencer Pryor, police public information officer. He said Michael Gathers, 17, is charged with first-degree lynching, which is defined as a mob attack resulting in death. Pryor said additional arrests are pending.
