Dogs to play host to Iowa

A visit from Iowa and a trip to Cancun for two games highlight The Citadel's 2008-09 schedule released Thursday.

Iowa of the Big Ten will visit McAlister Field House on Nov. 20, and the Bulldogs will travel to the Cancun Challenge for two games on Nov. 29 and 30.

Also on the slate are trips to Virginia Commonwealth, Michigan State and South Carolina and a Nov. 25 date with Charleston Southern at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Coach Ed Conroy's Bulldogs went 6-24 overall, 1-19 in the Southern Conference last year.

The College of Charleston visits on Jan. 24, and the Bulldogs go to C of C's new gym on Feb. 14.

The Cancun tournament includes Vanderbilt, New Mexico, Morehead State, Drake, Central Florida, VCU, Central Arkansas and South Dakota State.
