A 15-year-old James Island Middle School student is accused of raping a 12-year-old classmate on a bus after school in December. Both are special-needs students, according to the Charleston County School District. The girl told police she was raped on the bus and that the boy threatened to beat her up if she told, a police report said. It said she didn't come forward until May, when she claims the boy made more advances toward her. The boy denied the claims and told investigators that he is not sexually active, the report said. He is in jail and has been expelled from school, authorities said.
