Elderly man with Alzheimer's disease missing in downtown Charleston

An elderly man with Alzheimer's disease has been missing in downtown Charleston since this afternoon.

Gerald Stinson, 68, was with his sister about 12:30 p.m. on Broad Street when his sister lost sight of him near State Street, a police report said. It also said he is diabetic.

Stinson is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 185 pounds. He was wearing a gray polo shirt with horizontal black stripes, navy blue pants, a dark, crumpled cap, sandals and white socks.
