The Spartanburg-based Marshall Tucker Band will headline performances for North Charleston's July Fourth celebration at Riverfront Park this year, the city has announced. The Southern rock group will follow an opening set by The Drifters. City officials are also trying to line up other performances by local bands for the celebration from 3 to 9 p.m. A more expensive and bigger fireworks show is being planned compared to last year's, said Ray Anderson, chief assistant to the mayor. "People want the wow factor, so we are going to change it up a little this year," he said. Admission will be free. Read more in tomorrow's Post and Courier.
