State Report Bryan Narcisse of North Augusta has committed to Clemson and will sign with the Tigers basketball team on Wednesday. The 6-6 Narcisse signed with Western Kentucky last November but was granted his release when Hilltoppers coach Darrin Horn left to become South Carolina's new coach. Clemson coaches watched Narcisse on Friday at an open gym at his school. He visited the campus Saturday and was offered by coach Oliver Purnell. "It's a dream come true to be playing in the ACC," Narcisse said. "Everything happens for a reason. As a family, we decided to take this opportunity to search for a school closer to home. I think it all worked out." Narcisse is the fourth recruit for the Tigers' 2008 class. Clemson has another scholarship to give but probably will hold it over for the next class. This past season, Narcisse averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game. Boxing The Citadel's Cliff Allen and Sam Greenwood each won bronze medals in the national collegiate boxing championships last weekend in Reno, Nev. Allen, fighting at 165 pounds, stopped Allen Cheng of San Jose State in the first round of their quarterfinal match. In the semifinals, Allen lost by decision to Travis Murray of the Coast Guard Academy. Greenwood (175) stopped Tyrone Dixon of Shippensburg University in the first round to advance to the semifinals, where he lost a split decision to Kenny Dyer-Redner of the University of Nevada. College golf Charleston Southern's Olivia Jordan-Higgins and Katrin Rumpf were named to the All-Big South Conference team, and teammate Madison Jeter was selected academic all-conference. Jordan-Higgins, a sophomore, was league golfer of the week three times and is a repeat all-conference pick. Rumpf, also a sophomore, has led CSU in four events.
