Vickery's Bar & Grill in Mount Pleasant long has had a reputation as a great restaurant, but it's also a favorite spot for enjoying a beer or cocktail with friends. The view of Shem Creek is the perfect Lowcountry setting, and for both locals and visitors alike, it would be impossible not to enjoy the scenery from the patio area of Vickery's, especially in the spring, summer and fall, when the weather is just right. Like the original Vickery's downtown, the franchise's long-established familiarity is every bit as important as the quality the place offers. Everything from the menu (the "Southern Fried Squid" calamari appetizer is my favorite) to the way the place looks reminds customers where they are. And for almost a decade, Vickery's in Mount Pleasant has been a favorite place for locals to be. When heading out to meet friends at Vickery's, the inevitable question is always "downtown or Mount Pleasant?" as both offer the same quality experience, tweaked to suit the respective environment. Vickery's bar area is perfectly situated so that the view can be enjoyed with a brew. Vickery's staff always has gone out of its way to offer great service, and I can't recall a visit when I wasn't greeted with a smile. Shem Creek is full of great bars and restaurants to show visitors a good time, and Vickery's in Mount Pleasant lives up to the neighborhood standard.
