Behind Bars
Lawson Roberts, Special to the Post and Courier
On 'The Chart' North Charleston is seeing quite a Renaissance in the restaurant and bar arena lately. Park Circle is now the host of yet another fantastic watering hole. The Chart, 1078 East Montague Ave. behind Park Circle Coffee N More, is open Wednesday-Saturday. The bar is open 4 p.m.-midnight Wednesday and Thursday, and 6 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. They roll some mean sushi on Thursdays as well. Log on to www.myspace.com/charlestonchart for daily specials.
Roof is on fire Coconut Joe's on the Isle of Palms has opened its rooftop deck for the season. If you are new to the area or have not experienced this view over looking the Atlantic, make a point to stop over at 1120 Ocean Blvd. and take the brief trip up the stairs. We assure you that the Malibu rum will be flowing, and Joe will have live island music for your enjoyment. 'Sweet Tea' party Irvin Vineyards on John's Island, the maker of Charleston's famous muscadine vodka, has come up with what could be a hangover helper. Sweet Tea Vodka is now being produced by Fire Fly. This writer has had the pleasure of trying it, and I am here to tell you our loyal readers that this stuff is tasty. For details, visit www.fireflyvodka.com.
The perfect cocktail What defines the perfect cocktail for you? Is it the perfect blend of liquor to mixer? How about the number of times the bartender shakes your martini? We would like to know what your favorite cocktail is, and who makes it the best in Charleston. Drop us a line at lroberts@postandcourier.com. We'll share the details next week.
