Today

--Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will present Rick Hendrick Open Car, Bike & Truck Show. The event, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., is sponsored by Rick Hendrick Chevrolet on Savannah Highway. Registration is $10 a vehicle. Thirty trophies will be awarded by class size, and there will be three Sponsor's Choice trophies. Classes will be Corvettes, rat rods, motorcycles, sport compact, Mustangs, street rods, trucks, and years 1900-62, 1963-71, 1972-89 and 1990-2007. Wednesday

--Charleston-Lowcountry Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will host its monthly car show 6-8:30 p.m. at Joe Bessingers Bar B Que on College Park Road in Summerville. Registration is $5. Classes include years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-72, 1973-2008, Corvettes, imports, lowriders/tuners, motorcycles, Mustangs, street rods and trucks. Sept. 29

--The Low Country Travelers Car Show will be held at the Wal-Mart Shopping Center (Wando Crossing) on U.S. Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant. Registration, which is $15, is 8 a.m.-noon. Free public admission. Proceeds will go to the MUSC Children's Miracle Network.

--A cruise-in will be held 5-7 p.m. at Andolini's Pizza on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. The event is free to the public. Contact Brad Lustig at 367-1060 or go online to www.eastcoopercruisein.com for more information.

Oct. 3

--Bessinger's BBQ at 1602 Savannah Highway will host an Open Car, Truck & Motorcycle show 6-9 p.m. Registration is $5. Categories include cars from years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-71 and 1972-2007; street rods, trucks and motorcycles. Three trophies per class. Music by the Cruise-O-Matics. The group meets the first Wednesday of the month through November. For information, call Tom Jameson at 571-2264.

Oct. 4

--The Summerville Hawks 13U traveling baseball team is hosting a benefit car show 6-9 p.m. at Tommy's Roadhouse in Knightsville, in the Publix parking lot. Entry fee is $5. All classes can enter, including motorcycles. Benefits go to the baseball team. Best in Show, called "Hawks' Choice," will be judged by the team. Oct. 6

--A cruise-in for cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles will be held 6-8:30 p.m. at Robert's Bar-B-Que at 5120 Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston. It's free and open to all, including Mopars, AMCs, Mustangs, Thunderbirds, Camaros, Corvettes, lowriders and tuners. There will be People's Choice and Manager's Choice trophies. The cruise-in is a companion event to the 20th annual Lowcountry Mopars Show & Swap. Proceeds will benefit a local charity for children with cancer. --A Fun-N-Sun Cruise-In will be held noon to 3 p.m. at the Northern Tool and Big Lots parking area at Rivers and Aviation avenues in North Charleston. Free and open to any type of vehicle. The cruise-in is hosted by Palmetto Chevelles & El Caminos (PACE). For more information, call Mike Smith at 761-7333 or 834-0827.

--Lowcountry Mopars 20th Annual Show & Swap will be held at the Coastal Carolina Flea Market in Ladson off College Park Road and U.S. Highway 78. Classes include years 1900-63, 1964-74, 1975-89 and 1990-2007; Mustangs; Corvettes; street rods, trucks, motorcycles and Mopar specific classes. Registration is 10 a.m-noon, with trophy presentation at 3 p.m. Entry fee is $15 the day of the show. All proceeds will benefit Happy Days and Special Times. Oct. 9

--The Low Country Volkswagen Club will hold its monthly meeting at 6:45 p.m. at Stokes Volkswagen, 3491 Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston. All Volkswagen owners and enthusiasts are welcome. For more information, visit the club Web site at www.lowcountryvw.org.

Oct. 10

--A Classic Cruise-In sponsored by Lowcountry Mopars will be held 6-8:30 p.m. at Ryan's restaurant on U.S. Highway 17A in Summerville. Oct. 13

--The 8th annual Street Thunder open car, truck and bike show will held at Texas Roadhouse and Super Kmart, 8571 Rivers Ave., North Charleston. Registration is $20 before Sept. 30. It is $25 the day of the show, 9 a.m. to noon. Trophies include Best in Shows for cars, trucks and bikes and for Best Interior, Best Engine, Best Paint, Distance Driven, Club Participation and Sponsor's Choice. Classes include Mustang 1964-85, 1986 to present and specialty; Camaro and Firebird, 1967-69, 1970-81 and 1982-2002; Corvette, C1-C2, C3-C4 and C5-C6; Mild and Wild sport compacts, domestic and import bikes; Mild and Wild trucks; 4x4; rat rod; Miata; PT Cruiser; street rod; and years 1900-59; 1960-69; 1970-84 and 1985-present. The event is presented by Coastal Carolina Corvette Club. Proceeds to benefit local charity. Rain date is Oct. 20. For more information, go to the club's online site at www.4cccc.com.
