Gordon, Patrick McNeill to miss Game 1Posted 01:36 p.m., April 26, 2008 Just a quick update. As I reported earlier, Steve Pinizzotto and Grant McNeill will be in the lineup on Sunday for Game 1 against Columbia. Andrew Gordon and Patrick McNeill, however, will not be in the lineup until Game 2 on Tuesday night. Both Gordon and Patrick McNeill had to move out of their respective apartments, close bank accounts, stop cable service, etc., and that obviously takes more than just an afternoon to finalize. Stingrays coach Jared Bednar said it just makes sense to let them come down after they’ve finished packing up. He could have flown them in for Game 1, but then the issue of getting their belongings would have been dragged out. Bedsy told me that Gordo called him up Saturday afternoon and asked the Rays coach if he was, “interested in having (Gordon’s) services for the rest of the playoffs?” I think that tells you all you need to know about Gordon’s desire to be back with the Rays. This kid wants to win a championship and despite playing just 11 games with the Rays he still feels a connection to the team. Gordon and Patrick McNeill will “officially” be added to the roster on Monday. Grant McNeill and Steve Pinizzotto will be added either later today or Sunday. See you at the Rink, APM |

Thanks for the updates, Andrew. Great blog.
I really was hoping the Bears could force it to a game 6 at home at the Giant Center. I really wanted to see Grant back in the lineup (after his suspension) in Hershey at least one more time this year. He's become a favorite of mine. Glad to see Grant, Steve, Gordo, and Pat will get a chance to help out in SC. Glad to see Werner back with the Rays and doing so well too (another fav of mine). Go Rays! Bear Nation is behind you! Good luck! :)
