Dogs swept

Posted 10:56 p.m., May 10, 2008

WCU completed its three-game sweep of the Bulldogs on Saturday, taking 11-2 and 5-2 victories in a doubleheader at Riley Park. The Bulldogs had six hits in each game, and five errors for the day.

That means the Citadel finishes at 12-15 in the SoCon, and is most likely destined for an eighth seed and play-in game in the SoCon Tournament. Should the Dogs win that game, that would mean a first-round meeting with the top seed. If that's Elon, it means Phoenix ace Steven Hensley.

The Dogs are at South Carolina Tuesday and finish the season with a three-game set against Presbyterian at Riley Park. They have a lot to fix in a short period of time.
