Dogs drop game 1

The first four hitters in The Citadel's lineup went 0 for 16 as the Bulldogs fell to WCU, 11-3, in game 1 of a three-game series at Riley Park on Friday nigiht. Chris McGuiness and Matt Arnold hit homers for the Dogs, but it was not nearly enough. WCU had 18 hits and got a complete game from pitcher Mike Tavernier.
The series will wrap up Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
